rescue cat!

Design duo's cat hailed fire hero

Now, of course we all know that the cat was meowing because he wanted attention or food, or because there was an insect on the ceiling that he couldn't get to. But we've all seen so many "dog saves masters" articles that I figured that this deserved some attention...and even if cat owners don't actually buy Felix's motives, we can still wave this article at dog owners when they start talking about dogs' superiority as pets based on their, um, utility. (I know I choose *my* friends based on their utility--don't you?)

(Clarification: I like dogs OK. I may even get one at some point. And to be honest, I think that the anti-cat and anti-dog arguments are generally both pretty silly; it's like being anti-chocolate vs. anti-caramel.)

Oh, and I'd like to see their goldfish bowl: the lens effect must have been impressive (especially considering that I would expect Brownian motion in the water to cause the focus to be somewhat diffuse).

It wouldn't surprise me if Hector howled at a fire. He alerts us to other problems not directly food/attention related. Basically, he doesn't like change and I suspect a furniture fire would count. He warns us when the guy he doesn't like goes upstairs after all.
