so what have _you_ changed your mind about recently?

Quite the list of intellectual luminaries, each (for the most part) talking about a change in opinion. Reading the whole thing would take (even) me quite a lot of time which I don't have right now. But there's some good stuff in there. Kind of like a series of conversations in a high-octane cocktail party, really.

God, I love that kind of high-octane cocktail party. I wander off on my usual jag about the singularity ... but I find a connection with someone who goes to Burma to do medical mission work ... and then we team up to explain the oil crash to some third person.

Yeah, me too. It's part of why I enjoy going to technical and scientific conferences, and not incidentally part of what I expect to be fun about working at Google. (And part of the reason why I'm still a bit nostalgic about living in the SF Bay area, which appears to attract people who enjoy this sort of thing. Seattle does, too, but I know more people in this category down there.)
