BoingBoing: What Game Styles Haven't Been Mined Out?

Hmm. An interesting perspective. Like many such presentations, it's low on specific suggestions, but it's thought-provoking nonetheless if you're interested in games, their history, and their taxonomy.

I would have liked to know what this guy thinks of the Cheapass model; it certainly decreases the risk associated with putting out new games.

This quote actually sums it up pretty well:

We assembled some of the smartest people we know to identify the trends that are most likely to affect our future. What we got was a fascinating discussion about religion, technology and politics and why no one's golf scores seem to be getting any better.


Mostly interesting because of the weird assortment of people participating, from Tim O'Reilly to David Brooks to Moby. I think that it would have been a lot more interesting if it had gone on for a few hours, but probably less saleable. :)
