MapCruncher: a way of allowing users to integrate existing maps as overlays in Virtual Earth. Very cool. A shame it's only possible to create your own mashups in Windows (currently, anyway), but at least you can check out their examples via Firefox. (Like other MS beta applications, it silently fails under Safari.)

This one is partially for
vito_excalibur, but others of my friends will appreciate it as well.
They're Made Out of Meat: a live action version. Interesting take. I haven't been able to watch the whole thing through (it craps out about 60% in) but I rather like it, and they have some good actors and pretty good production and cinematography.

Evolution of Dance: unfortunately low-res, but generally very well done. Imagine 6 minutes of dance to a rapid succession of mostly 80s music, with appropriate dance moves to each song. V. funny.
Sesame Street "Martians": yep yep uh-huh uh-huh. Brrrrr-ing! ([INSERT DEITY HERE], Sesame Street was brilliant.)

medical redux
17 May 2006 23:12So I've had an MRI now, and I have the preliminary report.
To summarize, apparently there's nothing wrong with my knee (that an MRI can detect, anyway).
Which is a relief, because that must mean that it's not hurting when I run (or walk for too long, or sit in certain positions) and doesn't occasionally buckle under me for No Reason.
It's not like I was looking forward to surgery, but at least it would have provided me with some measure of assurance that it would actually fix the problem.
*sigh*

17 May 2006 23:45Now that I've cleared the decks of all the funny/amusing/topical things I've run into recently, I do plan on writing up a sketch of the two very eventful weeks we recently spent in Portland and the Seattle area. Watch this space...and bug me if it doesn't get filled soon. :)
Update: okay, it's up there. You can stop bugging me now, Mr./Ms. anonymous. :P :)
