(Once again, I am serendipitously gifted with an appropriate song title. :> )

Megan and I went down to the beach (Crystal Cove State Park, I think) this afternoon near sunset, just to spend some time together while we waited for UB to decide that it's about time to start thinking about emerging. (As I put it to Megan, if I were where he was, I wouldn't be in any hurry either.) We took some great pictures, including one just at sunset with the sun right behind Megan's belly (in silhouette, of course).

As we were sitting there on some rocks, about five minutes before we left, a collection of seagulls decided to come by and hang out. Literally: eight or ten seagulls were hovering (in the strong breeze) over and around us within a few feet, and twenty or so more stood on the beach, about fifteen feet away in all directions around us. This persisted until we left. No one else on the beach got this treatment. We didn't have any food, they didn't really seem to be asking us for anything, and the only thing on the beach where we were was some rocks--no vegetation. (Nor did we get dumped on.) It was all rather odd, and very cool.

As a side note, standing sea gulls remind us rather a bit in size and shape of our silver tabby Amaya, when she's pulled in on herself. :)
