NYT article: Nurse, Where Do We Keep The Chicken Wire and Lamp Cord?
It's a bit uncomfortable to think that sometimes the best available medical solutions may involve making things up as you go along. On the other hand, it's a bit depressing to think that if we fast-forward this story 48 years to today, the intern never would have tried this solution (as visions of malpractice suits danced in his head).
In any case, I thought this was a lovely example of, um, thinking inside the chest.
