15 June 2005 21:27The Light of Reason: MAKING THE CASE: BEWARE THE TRAP OF THE DOWNING STREET MEMO
A longish essay (less long if you skip the quoted news articles) that makes the point that focusing on the Downing Street Memo as evidence of the Bush administration's false representation of their plans to invade Iraq is problematic because it implicitly suggests that the DSM told us anything that wasn't already apparent from the US' _actions_--and more importantly, that if the DSM itself could be refuted or discredited that the Bush administration's honor would be redeemed. Worth reading.
Crooks and Liars is often fun to check as a source of video of all sorts of fun stuff. My personal favorite at the moment: Penn & Teller: The Patriot Act is Bullshit. (Note: not worksafe.)
Not exactly "fair and balanced", but pretty danged funny.
