A recent Google search for "portland 'fluent in Elvish'" (the motivation for which is left as an exercise for the student) yielded the following first result:

http://www.dunx.org/cgi-bin/white-rose/forum?forum=Game341&groupBy=id&group=300&tail=40

for which the most useful context (which isn't saying much) is the White Rose Mornington Crescent page.

Because, you know, your day wasn't nearly surreal enough yet.

Dude. Or, as Arthur once said, "Shapes. I need shapes."

Clearly [said in a huff], this is just an instantiation of the Glass Bead Game. I was told about this eons ago by a minion, who answers to me under the name of Mornington Star. The connections are left as an exercise for the student.

I'm sorry, I haven't a clue (http://www.dunx.org/white-rose/mc_em.html#ISIHAC) what you're talking about. Does it have anything to do with mathematics (http://www.dunx.org/white-rose/mc_em.html#mathematics)?

Dude. Autominionage. I thought that was only legal when you were out of state (http://www.google.com/search?q=%22just+a+third%22&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8).

Yeah, I'd noted that Yoz (or at least someone using that name--and I foolishly assume that there can't be that many of him out there) was listed as a player on some of the games I glanced over.

"Journey to the Center of the Yoz" (http://parslow.com/mornington/move.pl?113&quick&extend=all) being one of the more...striking. :)
